Welcome to our new internet home; a work in progress. The main Menu will always appear at the top of the page: depending on your device, the menu items may appear across the top, like “HOME – ABOUT US – NEWSLETTER – SUBSCRIPTION”, or you may need to click on the three stacked bars (known as the hamburger) , to open the menu.
Also note the “search” function in the header above (l). Less often used items, like our Privacy Statement, links to our parent organizations (LCMC, and Texas District), and our Facebook link are always in the page footer
Posts about site updates, and timely information are linked under Recent Updates and Posts (below).
The church building you see in our logo above was originally a US Army chapel at Camp Hulen (Palacios, Texas). It was moved to Danevang, reconstructed, and dedicated on December 14, 1947, replacing the original Ansgar Evangelical Lutheran Church (1909), which was destroyed by a hurricane August 17, 1945. The local congregation began worshiping in what is known as the Community Center, completed in 1895, which is still in service adjacent to the church today.
The whole “subscribe” to newsletter and update emails is “new” to us. We are a small church, and hope to reduce printing and mailing costs, while still keeping folks informed. Allowing us contact you via email to let you know when the monthly newsletter is available, or to inform you about updates since the last newsletter, will help us toward that goal. We understand some will still prefer to continue receiving the newletter via regular mail. Our Church Secretary has been in contact with some of you, and we will add y’all to the subscription list manually — You will receive an email to confirm that you desire to receive the updates — We will do our best to not be a nuisance.
